Wonderful Gozo

The Island of Gozo region is the ideal place to rent a villa this summer. Villas in Gozo are often much cheaper than those found on the main island of Malta and there are many other benefits that come from being based on this smaller, subsidiary island of the Maltese Archipelago.

For example, anyone is sure to love the clean environment and the more relaxed pace of life that comes from living on a tiny island.

Also, as Gozo is only 9 miles by 5 miles, it means that it's really easy to get around and the excellent ferry connections to the main island mean that it's also a piece of cake to visit the rest of the country, making it a great base for your holiday.

Beautiful Countryside

The villages in Gozo are also spread out across the beautiful countryside that covers the island, making for a gorgeous backdrop and meaning that Gozo holidays are ideal for anyone who wants to stop and take it easy for a while, away from the hustle and bustle from modern life.

The villages – such as Victoria – often have local markets every day and they are a great place to find fresh, local produce such as vegetables. If you are after fresh, tasty seafood, then villages such as Xewkija and Mgarr are ideal places to base your visit to Gozo.

The brilliant range of Gozo villas means that there is something to suit all needs and tastes and you can get a great insight into what it would be like to be a local on the island.

Get involved with local activities such as the markets and fetes to make your trip even more special.

Plenty To Explore

There are lots of beautiful walking opportunities and fabulous restaurants all over the island, nestled in the villages and snaking out into the countryside beyond. You could quite easily spend weeks on your Gozo holiday without needing to go the main island.

The Ggantija temples are some of the world's oldest freestanding structures as well as the oldest religious structures. They are definitely worth a visit and are easily accessible to you if you choose to stay in any of the great Gozo rentals.

Other places to visit include the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fontana, which is near the island's capital of Victoria and the Fungus Rock, which is a small islet that forms a dark lagoon in Dwerja, one of the villages.
